The Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association will be hosting a Lunch & Learn at Courtyard by Marriott from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Design engineers, consultants, city engineers, and public works officials will learn about Pavement Design, Asphalt – Performance for a Lifetime, and Life-Cycle Cost Analysis.
Why Asphalt? Performance for a Lifetime:
New asphalt pavement surfaces typically last 18 years before needing easy-to-perform maintenance, and Perpetual Pavement designs allow the structure of a road to last indefinitely. That’s the value owners and drivers demand, for today, tomorrow and the future.
PaveXpress—Simplified Pavement Design:
Design engineers, consultants, city engineers, and public works officials will learn about a FREE web-based tool that has been developed to design pavement sections, either roadway or parking lot, based on AASHTO 93/98 standards. The presentation will focus on structural design using layer coefficient analysis as well as other pavement design parameters. This will also cover other scenarios linked to pavement design including: estimating material cost, calculated life-cycle cost, and analyzing pavement structure.
Life-Cycle Cost Analysis:
Life-Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) is a detailed process purchasers use to select various alternatives. These LCCA alternatives can range from vehicles, surface treatments to pavement type selection. Learn about the basic techniques and tools available to assist LCCA decisions. In addition, Dan will also discuss the “Rules to Live By”. Here he will outline 5 keys in making the best decisions when comparing alternatives.
Professional Development Hours (3 hours) are available to those who attend. This is a great opportunity to learn about using asphalt effectively. There is no charge for registration and seating is limited.
