MAPA promotes asphalt adoption and best practices through multiple channels — print, online, on-site visits, targeted marketing, regional meetings, conferences, and training events.

  • Lunch & Learns: Held across the state during midday, lasting up to 4 hours, often offering Professional Development Hours (PDHs).
  • Spring Training: A two-day event covering multiple tracks (Field & Lab Operations, Asphalt Plant Operations, and Design/Construction benefits). These sessions are relevant to contractors, public works staff, consultants, and engineers.
  • Scholarships: MAPA administers scholarships (via MAPA-REF) for students in infrastructure-related fields (engineering, surveying, construction management, etc.).

How To Join MAPA

To become a MAPA member, complete the online application form. All applications are subject to approval by MAPA’s Board at its quarterly meeting.

Membership Types & Eligibility

Applicants must select one of the membership categories and certify that they meet the respective eligibility criteria and agree to abide by MAPA’s Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. Note: some member types are non-voting and may not hold office.

Membership Types

Producer Member

Companies that manufacture or supply asphalt mixtures in Missouri. Producer Members are at the core of Missouri’s asphalt industry—delivering high-quality materials for everything from highways and city streets to parking lots, driveways, and other asphalt projects across the state.

Contractor (Non-Producer) Member

Companies that place or apply asphalt mixtures and asphalt products in Missouri. These members build and maintain asphalt pavements for state and local roadways, parking lots, driveways, and a wide range of public and private projects.

Bituminous Supplier / Refinery Member

Companies that refine and supply bituminous materials used in the production of asphalt mixtures in Missouri. These members provide a dependable source of asphalt binder essential to the industry’s success.

Bituminous Supplier / Non-Refinery Member

Companies that supply bituminous materials used in the production of asphalt mixtures in Missouri but do not directly refine those materials. These members play a vital role in maintaining a consistent supply across Missouri’s asphalt network.

Aggregate Supplier Member

Companies that manufacture or sell aggregates used in asphalt pavement mixtures in Missouri. These members provide the foundational materials essential to durable, high-performing pavements.

Associate Member

Businesses that offer products or services supporting the asphalt industry—such as equipment, testing, professional services, additives, insurance, bonding, or financing. Associate Members help strengthen all aspects of Missouri’s asphalt community.

City-County Member

City or county agencies with an interest in asphalt pavement design, construction, and maintenance. These members engage with MAPA to stay connected to the latest practices, technology, and specifications that impact local infrastructure.

Consultant Member

Engineering or consulting firms that serve city, county, or state agencies involved in asphalt pavement projects. Consultant Members collaborate with MAPA to remain informed on current standards, materials, and innovations in pavement design and construction.

Dues & Payment

All dues are payable April 1, and the MAPA membership year runs April 1 to March 31.

Additional notes:

  • Contributions or gifts to MAPA are not tax-deductible as charitable contributions.
  • However, dues and assessment payments may be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense.
  • A reCAPTCHA is included as part of the application for spam prevention.

Once the form is submitted, it will be reviewed at the next quarterly board meeting, and the applicant will be informed of acceptance status.

Aggregate Membership

The undersigned hereby applies for Aggregate Supplier Membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, for the purpose of aiding the Association in attaining the objectives and purposes as set forth in the articles of incorporation.

The undersigned company certifies that it is engaged wholly or in part in the production of aggregate material or stone base material to be used in asphalt pavement construction.

The Undersigned Company further pledges that, if accepted for Aggregate Supplier Membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, it will abide by the articles of incorporation and By-Laws of the said Association. The undersigned further fully understands that, as an Aggregate Supplier Member, the Company shall be entitled to the privileges of the corporation, except that no Aggregate Supplier Member shall hold office, nor shall an Aggregate Supplier Member have a vote in the conduct of the affairs of the Association.

Bituminous Non-Refinery Membership

The undersigned hereby applies for Bituminous Supplier/Non-Refinery Membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, for the purpose of aiding the Association in attaining the objectives and purposes as set forth in the articles of incorporation.

The undersigned company certifies that it is engaged wholly or in part in the production or marketing of asphalt products.

The undersigned company further pledges that, if accepted for Bituminous Supplier/Non-Refinery Membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, it will abide by the articles of incorporation and by-laws of the said association.

Bituminous Refinery Membership

The undersigned hereby applies for Bituminous Supplier/Refinery Membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, for the purpose of aiding the Association in attaining the objectives and purposes as set forth in the articles of incorporation.

The undersigned company certifies that it is engaged wholly or in part in the refinery of bituminous material which is incorporated in the production of asphalt material for use in the State of Missouri.

The undersigned company further pledges that, if accepted for Bituminous Supplier/Refinery Membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, it will abide by the articles of incorporation and by-laws of the said association.

Associate Membership

The undersigned hereby applies for Associate membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, for the purpose of aiding the Association in attaining the objectives and purposes as set forth in the articles of incorporation.

The undersigned company certifies that it is directly or indirectly interested in the use of asphalt as a paving material, and is engaged in whole or in part in the manufacture, distribution or sale of materials or equipment used in the asphalt paving industry.

The Undersigned Company further pledges that, if accepted for Associate membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, it will abide by the articles of incorporation and By-Laws of the said Association. The undersigned further fully understands that, as an Associate Member, the Company shall be entitled to the privileges of the corporation, except that no Associate Member shall hold office, nor shall an Associate Member have a vote in the conduct of the affairs of the Association.

Non-Producer Membership

The undersigned hereby applies for membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association as a Non-Producer Member, for the purpose of aiding the Association in attaining the objects and purposes as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation.

The undersigned company certifies that it is engaged in the asphalt road contracting business within the state of Missouri and pledges that, if accepted for membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, it will abide by the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws of said association.

Producer Membership

The undersigned hereby applies for Membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association as a Producer Member, for the purpose of aiding the Association in attaining the objectives and purposes as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation.

The undersigned company certifies that it is engaged in the asphalt road contracting business within the state of Missouri and pledges that, if accepted for membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, it will abide by the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws of the said Association.

City, County, or Consultant Membership

The undersigned hereby applies for Membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association as a City, County, or Consultant Member, for the purpose of aiding the Association in attaining the objectives and purposes as set forth in the Articles of Incorporation.

The undersigned company certifies that it is engaged in the asphalt road contracting business within the state of Missouri and pledges that, if accepted for membership in the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association, it will abide by the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws of the said Association.
