Specifying Asphalt for Success On-Demand Webinar

Topic Description:

The expected life and maximum performance of properly installed quality asphalt is dramatically affected by selecting the right mix for the right application. Please join Steve Jackson P.E. as he presents on the differences between many of the common mix designs in our region and helps gain a better understanding of the factors that should be considered when determining which mix will perform best in different situations. In addition to specifying the correct mix, Steve will also walk through the process of properly inspecting the finished product for each design type.

Objectives:

  • Gain a better understanding of the differences in asphalt mix designs
  • Gain a better understanding of the factors that affect the decision of which mix design to specify
  • Understand how to insure you are performing the right inspection for the mix design you chose

Presenter:

PLEASE NOTE:

The ASPHALT CALCULATOR is a quick and easy tool to help you estimate how many tons of asphalt pavement your project will need. Just enter your project’s width (feet), length (feet), and planned nominal compacted thickness (inches), then click “CALCULATE.”

The calculator uses a mix density of 1.950 tons per cubic yard to estimate the total asphalt tonnage required.
